help with cobra roadster 7 runners

Help

I'm trying to fit my seats into the Indy and can't for the life of me figure out how to get the clearance with the floor.

No matter which way up I fit the runners to the seats the mechanism for allowing the seat to move will foul the floor. I rang cobra who said to pack out the runner with washers but the amount of height we're talking about is ridiculous!!!

Firstly are there different types of Cobra seat runners? I've read several times on here that the runner is only an inch deep, but mine with the mechanism are nearly 2 inches and with the packing I won't be able to get into the car.

Then I thought about mounting it directly to the floor but if i want the seat as far back as I'll need the rear mounting holes will miss the metal straps in the chassis.

Have I got the wrong runners? and if not how the hell do you fit them. The ones I have have the brass coloured mechanism that locks to the teeth on the runner.

Any help and photos appreciated as I'm desperate to get the seats fitted so I can get on with the outstanding jobs.

I'm convinced the runners are wrong but can't find photos anywhere of these supposed slim runners for roadster 7 seats

Thanks
Nigel

I'd leave the runners off if you haven't already passed the SVA.

We had really slim metro runners.. about as slim as possible and still had to remove them to get through the seatbelt angles test.

Hi. Have you got some 1" spacer washers?
My runners are raised off the floor by about an inch.
Floor/spacer/runner/seat.

As above i'd leave the runners out for now to ensure you pass the seatbelt tests.

I don't think I can fit the seat without the runners. The rear mounting holes in the seat seem much further back than the rear 4mm metal strap which is part of the chassis.

As I'd need the seat as far back as possible to fit in the car then I think that would leave the two rear mountings only going through the ali floor and Mr SVA aint going to like that much.

Cheers for the help, I think I'm going to need to take a fresh look tomorrow as I'm too wound up by it at the mo as the runner seems a lot chunkier than I imagined it would be.

I have cobra runners although they are only 25mm high. I have 1" spacers between them and the floor and they are bolted through the ali floor with 50mm load spreading washers. No problem with this at SVA.

where can I get some of these 1" spacer washers? I've googled it and nothing comes up except for a flymo mower at £3 a pop

Thanks
