i've updated the original thread with pictures, video and findings. I with a new short block, lower casing, piston and conrod i could rebuild it into a decent spare.

I have a complete engine/gearbox that has a broken gearbox. Not quite what you're looking for but it may help to get you back out! I'm also in South Wales so not a million miles away from you. I'll U2U you my mobile number .
