What is the correct name for this part
SyKaTurbo - 4/11/08 at 11:15 AM

It's a locking washer for retaining a spring over a metal dowel. I was always under the impression they were called a spire clip but having a search for one under that name is bringing up this type of clip.

Any ideas please? Ta

1st pic - i used to work in a factory that used them, everyone called them dot locks for some reason - maybe a trade name. Ive always called them star lock washers.

2nd pic - i have a bag of those. The label on front says 'semi units'. You can also get hex headed bolts that look like they have a coarse self tapping thread that screw into them.
