I downloaded this for a mate of mine

I have to admit I never got it installed for him, but I can confirm it is free!
Cheers

the best thing you can do is to not let child have a computer in their room have it in a public part of the house and or have faith that you have done a good job as a parent . the only other thing is to make sure she understands that there is NO GARRENTEE THAT ANY THING ON THE NET IS TRUE. best wishes

One great advantage of AOL (really the only reason to have it) is parental controls over content, hours, e-mail, everything. Quite good for young children.

you could get Norton Internet Security
it can and does filter out sites pop ups and searche's for rude things very easy to setup
update and run.
instaled it for a client today.
it also has profiles that you can set up for your wee one.
the one i installed this morning had a fire wall anti-virus spam filter and net filter not bad for £30 i think .
Good luck mate

Cheers chaps - I will try the software Ali.

She will be surfing in our lounge (advantage of a wireless laptop) and she is very sensible and unlikely to want to look for any of this stuff. I have anti-pop-ups already and have set her up with an anonymous Hotmail account which I have access to, so it should all be fine. It's just the accidental stuff I want to avoid.
