white spirt, does not harm to glass fiber but desolves sticky glue

WD40 worked for me also. I was recomended it by a friend who works with fibre glass. I wouldn't use a solvent it may dull the finish.

I think WD40 contains kerosene which is sometime used as a degreaser (its certainly used to clean parts in bearing plants). This si why WD40, whilst an effective water displacer is not good at long term rust prevention.

paraffin or white spirit to dissovle the glue.

a hair dryer will soften the glue to allow it to be puilled off; it will not damage grp - not to be mistaken with a heat gun which probably will.

i did this too! whoops - white spirit and a clean cloth, no probs

ANY oil based product will help to remove the sticky substance, but isnt ideal for paintwork.

Hairdryer and warm water works for me.
