anyone got a disused fuel gauge they want to sell me?

Yep, it's about 3 foot long, made of wood and has a few notches on it How much do you want to pay for it

Seriously though, why not fill your tank up with fuel, reset the trip, hammer it until all your fuels gone and see how many miles you can do on a tank full. All you have to do then, is remember to reset the trip every time you fill it up. Worked fine for us on the Indyblade.

Thats what i am planning on doing. Only gauge I am having other than the required ones (i.e. speedo and odometer) is a temp gauge just to make sure nothings cooking.

Though for some reason in Kit Car mag the other week there was something saying you have to fit a fuel gauge for SVA so they can check the tank is full. Not heard that one before!?

I have one from a land rover defender - not idea if that is any use;

if you buy a guage; you need to be sure the sender matches (unless you can make a small circuit to adjust between the two.

If you have thge sender fitted in the tank, then you caould make a guage using a couple of LEDs, 4 would be enough to give you an idea of when you are about to run out of fuel on the motorway *whcih incidentally is an offence).
