Savage switch question
Jasper - 31/1/08 at 12:29 PM

I'm wiring up a couple of Savage switches, one for the horn and one for the fog light. I have followed the instructions to the letter but I don't get the LED backlight on at all on the horn (haven't tried the fog yet as it's just arrived).

I wired the led to the dash illumination feed from the Premier loom that is live when the lights are on, and the other side to earth, but no joy. Tested the wiring and is it live when the lights are on. Have I just got a dodgy switch?

Make sure that the led is powered up the right way round as it will not work if you have the polarity wrong i.e. negative to positive terminal etc.

I wondered what kind of bulb it was as I could see no way of easily replacing it

Also check that the Led has not come out of it's socket (common)

Hi Jasper

The LED 's are current sensitive try turning the wires round on the illumination...........

Sure I did try that - but I'll try again tonight, and thanks Colin, the fog switch arrived today.

I had this and found that the LED was loose in the switch. Took it apart, reseated the LED and all is well.
