Do you reckon the alarm was triggered when the pilot tried to take off with one engine!

I presume there must be a market somewhere, but how on earth do you sell a bent jet engine?

marvinsy - 21/12/06 at 05:02 AM

its made from expensive materials, maybe they planned to sell it? or display it in their homes? hahaha , it would be nice to have a jet engine at home.

There is a huge market for jet engines...

Recently the large company where I work had a brand new eurofighter engine go missing from the factory....God only knows what they are doing with it....its so damn complicated that it wont even start if its not in a eurofighter...

Hadn't thought about them just weighing it in, though I'd have thought the it would have to be a rather specialist scrapdealer to take engine alloys.

On the other hand I can immediately see at least 2 countries who might be prepared to pay big bucks for the latest military technology just so they can copy the technology.
