Something to look forward to then when you are old like me!!

TGR-ECOSSE - 20/12/07 at 10:57 AM

I'm ok. I've got a warning device for when i've had enough to drink!!!! SWMBO

nick205 - 20/12/07 at 10:58 AM

Certainly in the past, but I've found that having children has provided a natural curtailment to my drinking habits. The odd beer or whisky at home suffices now

Hangovers and kids don't mix well

wilkingj - 20/12/07 at 11:00 AM

I thought I did well last night..

Xmas Dinner Club Meeting.

1 x 500ml bottle of Spitfire Beer (No hand pulled or even top pressure beer at this place as its select and small)
1 x Glass of red wine with the meal.
no alcohol in the cooking / sauces etc.

and i'm 55 next B.Day.

Didnt I do well..
I'll make up for it at home over Xmas

But not too drunk to drive

iank - 20/12/07 at 11:20 AM

Not me (unless the 'safe' limit is stupidly low these days)

Half a bottle of red wine max these days maybe 2-3 times a month. Along with couple of glasses of decent port now and again.

(most other things give me a migraine hangover )

mcerd1 - 20/12/07 at 11:24 AM

I've definatly slowed down in the last couple of years (I'm only 25 btw)

A big night out used to be a few beers followed by a bottle of vodka - these days it just a few beers and a couple of V+C's and thats only a couple of times a month

NS Dev - 20/12/07 at 11:24 AM

I'm ok then, I'm only 30 so I can drink all I like hurrah!!!

Must grab a beer and get into the garage!!

For a northern lad my drinking capacity is positively shameful but i do think i practice a bit too much.

Ive cut down a lot in the last few weeks. Trying to cut out mid week drinking. Dont go out much but its all too easy to go OTT in the house. When you start mixing spirits and drink wine in pint glasses you know you have to slow down.

omega 24 v6 - 20/12/07 at 12:28 PM

Beers wine and etc in the workshop from lunchtime tommorrow.
I've been well warned by the wife and kids (old kids) to keep it down as we've got he local panto tommorrow night.
Apparantly when they narrator goes "welcome to the junior arts panto. This year its little red riding hood"
They don't want to be sat next to the drunk guy shouting " OH NO IT ISN't"

Peteff - 20/12/07 at 12:36 PM

or taking time out from drinking for another activity.

Does going for a p!ss count. I seem to spend a lot of time doing that.

Richard Quinn - 20/12/07 at 02:10 PM

So, looking elsewhere, the RDA is 3-4 units a day. A pint of Stella is 3 units! So even if it worked banking the units I should only go out once a week.

BenB - 20/12/07 at 03:24 PM

I find the problem isn't the beer it's the whooping I get when I get home.....

Went out last week with the boys.

"I'll be back home by 10.30".

rolled in @ 2 minutes to midnight slightly worse the wear after 6 pints of bitter (including quite a few pints of 5.4% London Porter), an extra large Cobra and half a bottle of rather nice Bordeaux (which I'm glad to say I start on rather than drinking last!!)...
At least the door wasn't locked... but I did spend the night sleeping on the sofa (when I wasn't talking to the big white telephone)....

Oh well..... Won't be doing that again until, let's see..... tommorow (my sisters wedding!)

falcor - 20/12/07 at 05:42 PM

I'm almost 33 and I hardly ever drink, I prefer to spend my hard earned money on toys...

Macbeast - 20/12/07 at 08:10 PM

It's Christmas fgs!

Miserable Government, nanny-state, wet-blanket killjoys.

Don't drink and drive, don't rape anyone, otherwise let your hair down.

Merry Christmas everyone
