Anyone running 2.0ltr zetec's got an average mpg? and what state of tune thier engine is in.
mine driven carefully will do close to 30 .... apparently . I get about 15- 20
Mine's standard tune Blacktop with bike carbs. I don't get less than 38 on the road. I would guesstimate on the track it does about
20-25.
Stu
30mpg on road silvertop on throttle bodies with standard ECU, on track about 22
im getting 35mpg from my silvertop on plenum/omex running 5 speed and 3.89 diff.
200 horses =20mpg
My worst ever was Bedford Autodrome when I hadn't mapped the Megasquirt properly yet. About 6mpg that was an expensive day.
After mapping it properly, rather than just throwing fuel at it to stop anything melting, I get 17mpg on track, 35+mpg on road. That's with a
220ish bhp zetec turbo. I think I could lean out the midrange still more yet, which would mean even better road mpg.
EFI will always kill carbs in terms of mpg - it allows you to get the fuelling spot on right across the rev range, rather that in 2 or 3 distinct
places like carbs do.
Tom
brother in law has a 2litre with Emmerald and tb's fitted high lift cams 165 bhp vauxhall injectors, he gets around 30 driving fast and 22 driving hard
My St did 40mpg on the way to Stoneliegh this year sticking behind trucks and keeping it under 65~70ish.
On the way back with it raining and keeping the speed up it returned about 28mpg.
Hope my MS conversion will improve on them figures
