Seat Trim/ edging

I'm struggling to make a decision. I need to put some trim around the outer edge of my seats but I can't decide between the standard rubber stuff or the edging with the metal bits in (similar to what you'd use on the front wheel arches) - currently studying the CBS catalogue. Has anyone got any examples?
