£86.00 is not really cheap imho. i would say a decent set of e marked trs harnesses would not cost much more and that is for the pair!

I'm pretty sure it was £90ish for a pair of Sabelt from Mac#1 with some hunting around so your price seems ok.

I think standard ones are not 3" anyway, most are smaller 2" or 2.5" maybe.

I regret not going for 5 point though. The crotch strap would stop the buckles riding up during driving (potentially causing sternum/internal injuries in a front-ender).
It would also stop you 'submarining' under the belt (as discussed by Mark Allanson on here who's an ex-insurance accident assesor).

The lap strap should fit properly across the hips. If it comes upwards it's dangerous.

I recently bought Triton seats and specified them to have the 5th strap hole in them ready for a seatbelt upgrade some time!

Cheers,
James

Sorry to hi-jack your thread, but I have two sabelt 4 point harnesses in the Motaleira which is taking it's sva 20th April.
I have one boxed new condition (but out of date) sabelt 6 point harness that I plan to put in the car after sva (plus I am after another) that I planned to use in the F1-2 but didn't fit.
My question relates to MOT and the suitability of the turn buckle on the 6 point.
I need to know wether to sell the 4 point or not. Getting rid of them and then needing them for MOT would not be a wise move!

Mines are a pair of LUKE 4 points clip in top mounr bolt in bottom mount. Got from passion automotive on ebay at IMHO a very good price.

They are 2 inch jobbies but both the laps and shoulders are extra width spreader belts 3 inch wide.
good price linky
