Cobra Roadster 7 seats BROKED?
My drivers seat back is no longer rigid and is moving foraward and backward, where it meetrs the rear of the seatpad, at the 90deg if you like.
Anyone know if this is a bolted joint that can be tightened?
ISTR a mention of the mainn tubes breaking on her, but despite search can't find it
Any advice/experience?

I understand that this is a weak feature of these seats as they where supposed to rest on the rear bulkhead in place of the old style seat squabs , as
far as i know they are a welded frame assy, i have heard of people having to reweld them.

If it can be done it i will be done .

Yep, confirmed as above, def welded.
Been there a while ago, welded the bugger & reinforced with a small fillet.

It is a weak point. Got mine changed under waranty. The seller tried to argue that it must be fitted with the back resting on something, I argued that
they sold it with runners so how can this be! Little they could say really so changed it. Poor design.

Yes its a weak point, especially if you have a High "G" acceleration car coupled with a bit of bodily weight in the driver (like me)
I just took mine apart and welded it back up, and put in a bigger/ longer fillet piece on the bend where it broke.
Mine broke at the end of the strengthening fillet, after less than a year.
Its done another two years now with out breaking again, so I must have sorted it!
Its more faffin about to pack and send them away, and you will only get back another seat that could go int he same area.
Repairing and strengthening, sorted mine out permanantly (so far!)
Just careflyy prise the staples apart, and the covering will all come off leaving you with the (very simple) frame to weld up.
Just my 2 reils worth.

2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

Ok, you've got me there. Which country's currency would that be?
FYI: possible candidates sounding the same being:
Real BRL Brazil [BR]
Rial (Iranian) IRR Islamic Republic of Iran [IR]
Rial (Omani) OMR Oman [OM]
Riel KHR Cambodia (formerly Kampuchea) [KH]

Never been convinced by Cobra Roadster 7 seats, expensive as well should they should review the design it's been an issue for ages! Trouble is
there is little choice for a seat in a 7..

LMAO, you'll pull this guy on some currency spelling, but say nothing about the original post... you can't see anything worth pointing out
there? The fact he BROKED his seats, which don't move FORAWARD where it MEETRS the seatpad? LOL
I think anyone is on a loosing battle trying to correct spelling on here.

Apologies for my spelling, is it still treason?
iPod touch screen, not the easiest to correct either.
Apart from "broked" that was a deliberate light hearted misdeameanour
Thanks for the advise (advice?), I'll look to mending it then, as mentioned it does have to work quite hard and not just down to the phenomenal
accelleration
