How best to mount my clocks?

Doing more bits on the dash today, going to mount the clocks but I'm not sure how to do it. What I want to do is sikaflex the clocks to the back of the surround I have and then just bolt that through the dash.

The clocks are not particularly heavy but I'm not sure if they will stay stuck to the surround with just sikaflex? I think the fibreglass dash will be strong enough.

This is the surround (out of MK's Midi)

Is that a billet ally surround that you've made?

No, Martin Keenan made it, I saw it on a picture of his MK Midi in March kitcar mag so I rang him up and asked him to make me one. Would have been too expensive as took a long time to make but he was changing his clocks so he sold me this one. All nicely radiused for the IVA, I've modified it slightly by taking the lenses of the clocks and gluing them to the back of the surround and then shielding the bulbs, as it was previously you couldn;t see the indicator, neutral light etc very well. Very pleased with it

Could you glue/bond some bolt heads to the back it then fix the clocks to it with plates and nuts?

Nice looking dash that.
Pu adheasive is very strong, it is slightly flexible, when first sets, then goes quite hard.
The strength of pu is rated at a few N per mm2. A 1 cm by one cm square will hold 10 - 20 KG!
