Blanking up a large bulk head hole with what ??

Hi Guys my MK BEC has a large hole in tunnel where the gear selector shaft goes through but its got no grommet on or anything and needs to be sealed up to pass scrutineering any idea's what is going to be best to use, needs to be sealed from engine bay see, and flame resistant not fire proff just flame resistant for a few mins etc....

here is what i need to cover

Some rubber flaps maybe? Possibly with some welding cloth on the engine side for flame resistance.

some sort of gear lever gaiter? don't know how fire resistant they are though... or any bits of an old race suit or balaclava?
