Can I use bike clocks on a 7-style?
I've seen a number of ads for bike clocks (speedo & tacho) that I rather like the look of... but I don't know the first thing about
them.
Could I use them on a 7-style?
How easy a job is it to do?
I'd be looking for electronic ones rather than cable-driven. Any particular models I should look out for?
Are they OK for IVA?
etc
All (helpful!) info appreciated.

Im using Hayabusa Clocks in my 7 build
but then im using a hayabusa engine too, so it makes life a lot simpler.
will a set of bike clocks work with any engine, probably not, can you make them work - probably, will the cost be more than buying something like a
digidash - more than likely
someone will have a better answer though

unless you're into electronics and like a challenge, or have a tame electronics bod that can help
I reckon you would be better of with a proprietry digidash.
Not saying it can't be done, but probably not worth the heartache.

bike engine clocks rev to about 18000 rpm or something, car engines don't go anywhere near that, if it does, it'll be broken.
so, er, no, not really. but there are options like veypor gauges, which come in bike and car variants

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Bikes rev up too high compared to a Zetec so the reading would look funny and be inaccurate. Get something like a digidash.
They kind of look like bike dials but nicer and hold more information.
If you are building your kit I think things like dial choice is important to do once and once only. So spend the money and get what you want. If you
dont you have to constantly look at thinking why did I not do that properly first time round!?
