I have never painted an actual seat, but I did during a rebuild of a Triumph, paint the vinyl covered door cars and dash with proper vinyl spray
paint. once dry it was very tough, not marking despite owning dogs.
As for a seat, not sure it would stand the constant movement and abuse without wearing off at some point, of course someone may post that they have
and its fine....
Would it be possible to get them recovered, I know this will be more expensive that a few cans of paint ..

Don't know about how seats themselves would stand up as mentioned above but the headrest that I bought for my Westy seats (Restall) had been
painted black. So going to re-cover them to match the tan seats.
Sods law, if you want the paint to stay on, it won't but if you spill some where you don't want any, it will be a bugger to get off.
