Lotus Elise instrument cluster testing.
Gents, I've a Lotus Elise instrument cluster which I bought several years ago and stashed in my shed awaiting use in my Luego and I'd liek
to test it to see if it works, only I don't have a handy Elise to plug it into. Does anyone know of any way to power it up to see if it's
still functional i.e. apply voltage to certain terminals?
I trained as a mechanical fitter many years ago so please go easy on me

Is it a genuine stack one? There are a couple of differnt types for early and late models and the VX220.
I wired a VX220 set in to my nova but the wiring diagram came from a foreign vx220(speedster) forum.
Do you have a length of cable out the back?

It's says stack on the front, the label on the rear is as shown below. It has no cable (didn't come with one) but needs a specific
plug.

That looks like a S2 dash, which suits the toyota engine and I think is a CANBUS system - so might be hard work getting it to run on regular
wiring.
EDIT - might be wrong on that acctually as the toyota engined ones had a 10k rev limit IIRC.

This is the rear of my VX220/Tornado/Shurlock unit but I doubt the wiring I have will give you any assistance.

That is an S2 Elise instrument cluster for the K series engine.

Yep, it's an early S2 k-series. My 2002 Elise had a stack unit but my current 2004 elise (still k series) does not.
It you go on http://forums.seloc.org/ there is a technical section and someone will be able to help or possibly offer to let you plug it in.

I work for a lotus race team that is off a series 1 and early series 2 which have a rover k series 1.8 engine in vvc and non vvc. It is not Toyota as
the Toyota clocks go to 10,000 rpm. Just use a power probe and work through the terminals, I can't remember which pin is which I just use a
power probe or I may have a diagram somewhere at work and will look on Monday
Less weight more speed, more power more speed
If in doubt, give it a clout
