Weld-on steering hub - but not quick-release

I am converting my corolla-based CEC to BEC and need to re-route the steering. Rather than try and re-use the Corolla shaft (heavy, and I don't need the controls) I'm thinking of starting from scratch with 19mm (3/4" generic shafts and UJs. I plan to use an OMP wheel or similar. My problem is the interface from 19mm shaft to steering wheel. I don't really want a quick-release hub so I'm trying to find a permanent weld on adapter. I've tried searching on forums and web for "steering hub", "steering boss" and "steering adapter" but all I can find are either quick-release or for karts.

Any suggestions? Thanks...

JJC do a chunky weld on quick release boss for about £20 which has enough material to drill and tap a lock screw into to make it solid.

We do one which has the standard OMP, Sparco, RMD bolt pattern, it's pre drilled & tapped in either 4 or 5mm steel with a centre hole, It's not something we advertise as used really for our own cars, but we do sell a few to customers who buy steering wheels from us, they are £12

I'll try to get some pics/dimensions sorted out, if I've not posted them by Monday give me a kick!

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1
