Mounting 6-point harness
I'm looking at going from 4-point to 6-point, which I think will be a big improvement as currently the lap belt tends to ride up a lot.
Four of the points will mount in the same place, but the anti-sub straps will have to go through the seat into the floor somewhere.
The floor is a sheet of steel welded to the chassis. Options are:
1. double up on existing lower mounts.
2. bolt spreader plates to the floor (underneath so the bolts don't take any load in a crash, only locate the spreader plates).
3. weld spreader plates to the floor.
4. weld a tube across the floor.
I'm leaning towards option 2... any comments/suggestions?

You need to read the safety instructions very carefully. The crutch strap needs to be located in the correct place otherwise in an accident
you'll end up with your balls somewhere they shouldn't be!!!
That will determine what method you use to install them but a tube welded in would be safest

I would look at relocating lap belts so they don't ride up. If they arent right in an accident they would do some worse damage than squashing
your balls!

I would suggest downloading the Scroth instructions, they are complete and very detailed about positions.

I've read the very helpful Schroth manual, it's clear on position etc (so I think it's a choice between 2,3 or 4) but doesn't
really address how to attach a spreader plate etc to the chassis. The blue book isn't very clear either, surprisingly.
Was wondering what other people have done to solve this problem.

It states fixed to chassis - a bolted spreader plate would be 'fixed' so I would say your option 2 is fine, as you say, its just a
locator.
