Seats and the MOT
Quick question, does the drivers seat have to be adjustable for the mot test (ie will it fail if it's fixed).
Or is it, if it's adjustable it has to work/lock in position but if it's not adjustable then it's not a test item?.
I know there's a few mot guru's on here, and i can't find a definite answer using google.

As you said if it's adjustable it should work if it fixed only that's fine

if its adjustable, it must move and lock in position after being moved. but it fixed it doesn't have to move.
I'll try to find the ref for this
ref start of section 6.2 Seats and Doors
quote:
Original Design characteristics and specialised modifications (e.g. to enable wheelchair access) are to be accepted.
and I am sure it was the subject of an mot testers 'update'
which again. I shall try to find...
