Fiesta RS Turbo Seats
Does anybody know the width measurement of these seats and essentially whether they will fit in a book chassis? Having had these seats in my xr3i
cabriolet (ah yeer!) I can vouch for how supportive and comfortable they are and usually go for about £100 a pair. I guess that the only problem could
be their weight and the height of the seat base.....any ideas....?

I don't know what the width is, but I very much doubt they'd fit into a book locost chassis. Most people can only just get their arses
in, let alone a nice comfy Ford seat

Yep thats what I was thinking when I was sat in it last night with a stella in hand making engine noises
BE nice though - they are essentially Recaro N-joys but for less than a third the price...

Who's Stella, and why was she making engine noises?

so it's not just me that sits in a car that's half built making silly noises then
I do sometimes add a little tyre noise as well, just for good measure
Luckily the workshop is along way from the house down a gravel drive, so I haven't been caught doing this yet!

It gets even better when you can Fred-Flintstone-drive your car back and forth a few feet in the garage!

I hope you weren't drinking and driving! may be worth taking measurements . With a bit of patience it might be possible to reduce the width.

I had both hands on the wheel at the time if that helps?? (The steering column wasnt actually attached to anything however!)
If you mean reducing the width of the seats then I guess thats a possibility - maybe will have to look for something a little skinnier!
Liam - how wide are your seats?

Yo dude
My chassis is 1" wider than yours (book width) so that's 43". - 6 for the tranny tunnel and 2 for the sides = 35".
That's 17.5" per seating area unless i have forgotten all that maths stuff - and you have 17". Aint any production car seats that
will fit in that space. Them bucket seats in Demo T dont fit either. It's cobra roadster sevens like i've got, or there are a few
similar products (richfield or intertrim or something) from the aftermarket world. Then there are seats available from most of the kit car and locost
people, and finally home made jobbies.

There seams to be a secret afterdark club thing going on. Does anyone have a disc / soundtrack that we could play so we can get the noise right?
My 2.5 year old daughter made me sit in the passenger seat on Sunday whilst she drove me to ASDA........ Only took 3 mins! Normally takes 10 mins in
my V6 Mondeo.

Recaro seats are simple to cut down. Mine are from a Manta GT/E.
Strip the upholstery from the base, narrow the base by 1 inch on the passenger side, and two on the drivers side. Fold the excess base material under
and refit the side bolsters - luvverly and comfy

Thats intersting Marcus!
Where do you cut then? Are you talking the actual seat frame itself? Or just the padding?

I was doing some work on a mini cooper earlier and it had half leather sports seats well comfy and nice and narrow and not too high. Maybe worth a
try...
