Reviving rock hard leather seats

I got my donor seats out of retirement on the weekend, a pair of tan leather MX5 'tombstone' seats. They're in decent condition, but the leather is absolutely rock solid. I reckon if I pressed slightly too hard it would splinter rather than bend!

What's the best way to bring them back from the dead?

Hide food or leather conditioners or the seats but not for your consumption

The Connolly hide care stuff used to be good.

Not sure about the new formulas though, I've heard that they've changed them.
