I am using capri gauges that will be fitted in the middle of the dashboard

Um...
...have you tried sitting in the car? I suspect that you may find yourself short of knee room! 
I had to cut mine higher to be comfortable.

the capri gauges fitted and a wee bit shaved off the bottom edge. Thanks David Jenkins.
