Dashboard Regulations

Hi Guys,
Im actually re doing my dashboard/centre console panel properly for my alevel project, and we have to do lots of portfolio research and regulations etc...
Just after a list of the IVA Regulations for dashboards.
Also providing the dashboard is radiused, does it matter how "hard" it is, im planning on using mdf and using formica as a surface but i know its "hard".

Thanks in advance

Ed

Go To:

http://www.transportoffice.gov.uk/crt/repository/IVA%20Inspection%20Manual%20for%20M1%20Passenger%20Cars%20July%2009.pdf

and download, then read the relevant section.

If this is supposed to be your research, I suggest you read the manual!

The instrument panel lower edge within the “specified zone” must have a radius of curvature not less than 19mm or 5mm and covered with a non-rigid material.

Note 6: A "non-rigid material" is a material which has a hardness of less than 50 shore A. For the purposes of this examination it will be deemed to be a material which is capable of depression under thumb pressure and when deformed retains a degree of protection against contact with any structure which it is covering and when released returns to its original form.
