Harness range
Evening all, Thinking of ordering some harnesses for my Indy, I have tried doing a search to answer my questions but cant seem to find what im after.
What harness type do i buy ie: do i have to buy harnesses for Caterham / Westfield or will any of the 4 point harnesses fit? Im thinking the straps
dont need to be that long for the top mounting so thinking the Caterham / Westfield ones might be more specific. Im currently looking on Demon Tweeks
at either Luke or Willians 4 point harness prefering the Luke ones as they come in Silver Any help much appriciated Greg

I got LUKE Caterham fit, and they were perfect for the MK

I bought mine from DT, the three inch Sabelt 4 point 'Caterham', will also accept the crotch strap to turn it into a 5/6 point if needed,
very pleased with it.

Hi Greg. If your car has to go through IVA then make sure that whatever you buy is compatible. Some of the quick release buckles and adjusters can
fall foul of the regs and are not even road legal at all. Having said that there must be thousands of cars going through thousands of MOT's with
these buckles, legal or not, but IVA may be another matter.
3" wide ones look ace.
Also check on end fitments. Some belts have spring clips to fit eyelets while some use bolts. Some Westies have eyelets at the top and bolts at the
bottom!
Overly long straps are easily cut to a more suitable length with a soldering iron.
But why silver???

be careful of the length most 4 points fit but a lot are way longer than needed. MK also sell them as do MAC1 and others

That was my point about anything calling itself a saloon harness, you're left with feet of spare harness. As for MOT, mine goes through no
problem with a quick release buckle, IVA may be different though, no idea why they'd have a problem with a 'better' harness to be
honest.

I've recently order some Titon harnesses from Prima Motorsport. Contact Jackie on 01202 661034

They were very helpful and make your belts to measure and are based in Poole so not too far for a trip out.
Not sure if they do silver though?

I have had a few sets of harnesses, none of which have been specifically for a "caterham" etc.
The problem comes from where the adjustment for the lap belt is, on "caterham" ones it is reversed, on ones like I have it is at the other
end so nearly need to take the seat out to adjust the dam thing!
I tend to end up with a scratches all over the back of my hand, and then find I've done them too long, or short and have to start again.
Definatly worth buying the right type - my next purchase after the cosmetics changes I plan, is a set of proper harnesses.

Give these guys a call, they are selling off a load of scroth ones that the FIA date is 2013 (instead of 2014) for under half price!!!!!!!
Just got myself a profi II 6Hans for 115 quid inc vat!!!! Demon tw@ts want 218 + vat for these!!!!!! I bet you can get a 4 point for under a ton!

I bought my LUKE units from Passion Automotive on the bay of e.
You can ask for clip ins or bolt ins or a combo of both ( mine were bolt in bottoms and clip in tops).
Price IMHO was great at just over £ 100 for the pair (2inch wide webbing but with shoulder AND lap spreader pads)
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

Prima make the belts exactly as you wish to suit your requirements, with hooks, bolts, buckles reversed, even offer handed versions so they look
symmetrical. Fully FIA approved and made to order. Not one of the big brands but quality was very good.
