Roadster 7 without runners
Guys,
Just about to start mounting the seats to the Indy.
I've got a set of Cobra roadster 7's, but i'm not too sure about how to mount them. They've got threaded bushes at the bottom,
but these are covered in vinyl. I was thinking that i'd cut small holes in the vinyl, put some rod ends in the base of the seats and then clamp
the vinyl with a (fairly big) washer and nut. Then stick the rodends through the (strengthened) ali floor and bolt 'em up (no need for runners,
it's my car, so small people can be in the passenger seat or not in the car at all.....)
Anyone done this before? Any hints would be very helpfull!

Looks like you've bolted them straight through the vinyl. Did you take any precautions to stop it (the vinyl again) tearing from around the
holes?
btw, car looks top notch. Nice engine, too! 2 litre or 2.2?

My advice is to buy a pair of runners. I have these seats and when I bought them I only bought one pair of runners for the driver's side only.
My thoughts were that the passenger didn't need any adjustment. However, when I saw how easy it was to fit them using the proper runners I just
bought another set for the passenger's side.
The runners cost me £19.99 (GBP) each side which doesn't seem bad to me. By the time you buy rod-ends and fit it all together I don't
think you will save much compared to this.

Hi again
Just poked it (the bolt) straight in, didn't
take any precautions. 
It's a 2 litre type 907.
The 2.2 is a turbo (type 912)
