I dont think it matters as the only sliding it will do is coming on and off unless that is, if you have an adjustable one.





How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Grease, every time.

Anything that mates together with the potential to come apart again, should be greased or lubricated to prevent corrosion and (on occasions) an airtight seal.

PTFE dry lube

you'll wish you hadn't greased it the first time you get it down your arm/a light coloured sleeve

ETA - assuming you're talking about a removable steering wheel boss?
