Cobra roadster seats - retrofit harness holes
Hello all,
we're just trying to sort a niggly problem i have with the car. namely that i have 3 point harnesses which get stuck at the back of the seats.
one solution to this seems to be to get the harness holes cut in the cobra seats. ( at the time i bought the seats they were such a good bargain off
here i couldnt refuse)
i'm told that its psosible to buy the plastic holes from the makers/distributors but has anyone on here done this?.
would like to know how hard it is.
did a search but couldnt find anything
Cheers
Paul

You can indeed buy the plastic inserts - I bought mine from one of the shows a few years back. Unfortunately I can't remember the company but it
was either a seat manufacturer or trimmer. They are a 2 part moulded part that is inserted into the hole and a plastic rivet inserted to secure them
together

Raz

I have been in just the same boat, even bought the plastic spacers which are in two halfs. Was told I could carefully cut four holes and then glue the
spacers in but didn't after finding out that there should also be a metal frame inside the seat as the harnesses pull down on the holes and
without the frame would rip the material. In the end sold them on here for much less than I bought them

Be careful if you are retrofitting the holes are there is no lower brace in the seat to support them. If the harness mounts are even slighty lower
than the holes they will compress your spine in the event of sharp braking or an accident.

Just make sure the rear belt mounts are the correct height for the seat - a little higher if possible.
