PVA Glue

Does anyone know if this is suitable for gel-backed carpets to ali panels?

Cheers!

PVA won't dry, use contact adhesive

but do test some on a small sample of the carpet & gel to see it is compatible first

My kids were using PVA to stick sea shells to paper the other day when they were making collages and it worked amazingly well!

It also dries clear so won't look a mess.

I would have thought it would work well on carpet to Ali. It is cheap enough to have a go on a cut off.

PVA won't form a good bond to metal.

As already suggested contact adhesive ----- Evostick.

You could also try a hot glue gun.

Just a tip with contact adhesive on ally, give the ally a quick dusting with etch primer a few hours before spraying the adhesive, makes it stick sooo much better

Great - just what I wanted to find out. But which contact adhesive is best?

As above PVA needs the water to escape to dry so metal is a no no, re contact adhesives we have found the stuff from Wickes/ Screwfix to be just as good as the original evo stik. hth

I ended up using the Alpha stuff from Woolies. Not cheap at £24 a litre (VAT and delivery inclusive), but it works well!
