Vinyl edge trimming

AM trimming cockpit. I'd like to butt the vinyl from the against the edge of a neigbouring aluminium panel - both on the same level against a panel behind.

Is there a neat trick to cut vinyl edges against a panel edge? I've tried running a thin blade against the edge of the aluminium, but there's always a tiny but obvious gap.

Thanks

Fold the vinyl over the edge of the panel and glue it down. You can get piping from woolies trim I am using cream piping against red, this can be glued or stappled onto one edge to fill the join.
