R1 Diff

So the kit is all ordered from MK just waiting delivery. I have ordered a donor package too, so not sure what diff MK will supply. But I just been looking into different diff ratios.

Its a 2006 R1 and the wheels will be 195/50/15 What would be the best diff ratio i'm thinking a 3.62 lsd?

Also I've been reading on here and it seems that Im going to have to modify the standard airbox so the engine will fit Is it better to get an pipercross airbox?

should be OK on that, enough to reach 120+ top end.

Speeds in which gear at which revs,

This is what i do to spec engines, wheels, diff etc.
Hope it helps.

Edit: just realised ive done your wall profile a tad out because i edited my zx14 sheet.
Its only out by tad, it goes from 62 in first to 63 in first.

Hmm now thinking a 3.38 at a compromise as 120 on a track seem limited. What about Cosworth diff and is it best to get lsd or not?

Top speed,

I'm just replacing my 2006 R1 for a 2008 zx14.
Ill be changing the diff so i can get a top speed of around 135,
Ive been on a lot of trackdays and 120ish is ok for most, however at bedford autodrome it was quite frustrating when everything was going past on that long straight.

In retrospect i'd go for the 3.38 as a compromise for all tracks including the ring.

I run a freelander diff as its lighter, i'm not sure if is limited slip or not but it still handles great and you can hold it sideways quite easy.

Does anyone know what the sort of differences there will be in acceleration (0-60)? and top end? between a 3.38 and a 3.62 diff?

the difference will be small, some times to certain speeds may be better on the 3.38 due to not needing a gear change etc.

so 0-60 will be a fraction slower but 0-70 may be quicker due to not needing 2nd gear etc.

Just be sure you have the power and aerodynamics needed to reach any theoretical top speed the 3.38 may give you.
