Speedo Reset

Anyone know how to zero a VDO mechanical Speedometer?

split it, then dis-assemble the digit wheels, line them up at zero and put back together.

Driving it backwards to zero will take ages and ages ..... unless its only done a few miles.

I had a look at doing that but it seems a pretty daunting task! It's actually done 36000ish, I disconnected the drive from the input to the worm driving the digits so I can rotate the digits fairly fast by hand, I wondered if I can attach a piece of rubber pipe or something to the cog then put it in a slow drill?

I don't really want to dismantle it too far and then knacker it!
