JK Composites seats fitted
I got my "new" (...to me...) seats from bjw970s (thanks, Brian) last week and I spent the whole of yesterday fitting them. It was a bt of a
fiddle, to say the least, starting with the fact the the frotn of the seat is so high that I couldn't reach the pedals comfortably even with the
seat as far forward as it would go. Quick attach with the jigsaw to cut off an L-shape including the lip on the leading edge and bolt the L back on
and it was an inch lower, so hey presto!
Other than that, I had to make a couple of new bracing brackets (the JK seats are very light but the back is a bit flexible, so need to be braced to
the back panel), measure, drill, trial fit, remove, remeasure, etc. (you get the picture) until I got them in. This morning I was going to take it to
the WLM meeting but a flat battery prevented that, so I put it on the charger and I went out for a blat this afternoon and I'm well pleased with
the support that the seat gives.

where did you get the seat padding from? i need some for a grp tub seat in my mnr. did you have to raise the rear of the seat a bit to compensate for
the high front edge? just looks quite upright from camera angles. nice seats tho. cheers

The padding was on the seats when I got them. The guy I bought them from said he got the padding from
JC Composites JK Composites when he originally bought the seats.
Rather than raise the rear, I chopped off a bit from the front and effectively lowered it by bolting the cut L back on. This does make the seat a
little more upright but for me it feels OK.
The lowest part of the base of the seat touches the floor and is bolted through the floor.

I've got one of those types of seat as my passenger seat (drivers is the base mount jobbie). I haven't used the supplied ally brackets but
moulded one from carbon/kevlar that pretty much follows the shape of the back of the seat. My main concern was that, in an impact, the seat could
break away from the bracket leaving a 6" ally dagger sticking out from the bulkhead.
