seat spacers
Im going to make some spacers to raise my seats 20mm so the lever on the sliders will clear the floor. These will also act as my "penny
washers" to spread the load.
What material would be best to use? Would a tough plastic be enough or does it need to be steel or ally etc?
Also what diameter should it be to spread the weight? (bolted onto a 1.6mm steel floor)

Hi
I needed to do something similar with my Cobra seat runners. I bought some 20mm sq steel box section and cut it to the same length as the distance
btween the runners.
Offered them up to the holes in the runners and drilled 4 holes in the 2 pieces of box section.
Then get the H/T bolts and drop them into the runners, put a nut in each end of the box section and screw the bolt through, leave it slightly loose
though to aloow some movement.
You can then drop the whole assembly into the car and through the holes in the floor and add spreader washers and nylocs on the underside. tighten
the whole lot up and jobs done.
Beauty of this method is the spacers and seat and runers are one assembly and a damn sight easier to put into the car then trying to put the spacers
in and then drop the seat onto the spacers without moving them.
Hope the description was clear enough and is of help. If not let me know and I'll attempt to describe it differently.
Cheers
Nigel

I've heard of people using those rubber/plastic black doorstoppers with a penny washer on each end

I think i got you nigel,
Did you put the spacers inline with the runners or across the runners(so 1 spacer bolted into both runners)
Ive got some 19mm box section so i think ill give it a go tomorrow

sorry for not replying sooner. The spacers are across the runners. I got my steel box section from B&Q if that helps.
