Interior Switches

Reading through the IVA manual, it states that any controls, tell-tales or indicators fitted, must be displayed so as not to confuse the driver. Does this mean i cant wire my wiper stalk on the steering column to operate headlights?
Also, can i just confirm that the only other switch needed other than indicators is a fog light switch.

ETA - and hazards

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

It means all your switches have to be marked with thier function. So if its marked as wipers but operates the lights then that'd fail.

You need switches for...
side lights/ head lights/ main beam.
indcators
fog light
horn (not in SVA but is for IVA)
brake fluid test (handbrake switch)
hazards

In addition you probably want...
headlight flash (might be required for IVA)

and if you have a screen...
wipers.
washers.
demister.

Warning lights required (for SVA, might have changed now)...
indicators/hazards
main beam
fog
brake fluid (correct symbol on the illuminated surface)

Plus...
illuminated speedo in MPH

Think thats about it

is it only the brake fluid light that needs the symbol on it?

Was just that for SVA but I don't know about IVA. As the switches have to be marked I'd assume the lights do as well.

Yes warning lights have to be marked. IIRC for SVA the brake fluid warning had to shine the red light through the symbol - don't know if that's been extended to the other warning lights.

But it's easy enough to do without custom switches/lights as you can buy a sheet of stickers with all the symbols you need on it from the automotive electrical specialists (VWP certainly list it)

cerlik for the sheet of stickies

My digi-dash has all the warning lights on it. Do the switches have to illuminate aswell or are the warning lights on the dash enough?
Sorry for all the questions.
