There should be a basic harness available for this, I know it's freely available and cheap here in SA.

Failing that I can look for the diagram (it's in a file somewhere in the garage)and post it for you.

No worries, i'll scrounge around in the morning.
Just to confirm, the module is the 7 pin job and the distributor has the three pin plug on the side?

So it's a diagram for VW bits your after?

Club GTI website might be a good place to ask as peeps here tend to be more Ford oriented!

Not my day, still waiting for the camera and the scanner wont co-operate.
What I have is the original VW current flow diagram. I'm going to try n do it without a picture, if this doesn't help I'll try n do a pic.

Ignition module:
Pin 1: 1.5mm goes to Negative side of coil (Label at coil will be - or 1)
Pin 2: 1.5mm Goes to Earth or battery negative.
Pin 3: 0.5mm Goes to Negative pin on distributor.
Pin 4: 1.5mm Goes to positive pin on distributor and to ignition positive.
Pin 5: 0.5mm Goes to Positive pin on distributor.
Pin 6: 0.5mm Goes to Middle Pin on distributor.
Pin 7: No Connection

Looking at the distributor so that the plug is between you and the distributor, the positive pin is the one on the right and the negative the one on the left.
