Rolling Road This Saturday
We are off to Bogg Bros this saturday to have our indy rolling road tuned .
Engine spec is:
Standard 2.3 Duratec
Lightened Flywheel
2001 ZX9R Carbs (40mm)
Pipercross Filter
MK 4 Branch Manifold
Megajolt Ingition management
Be interesting to see what sort of power its putting out. Its VERY potent, the carbs seem to fuel the 2.3 really well (12-13) through all gears. Thats
with the air bleeds blocked off (without this AFR's were much leaner (15+).
Anyone taken anything megajolt wise to Boggs? Not sure if he'll be interested in fiddling with it. It currently runs the base MJ map.
Our 2.0 pinto was putting out 110 at the rear wheels, so here's hoping for a significant improvement. Will post up the results on saturday
afternoon.

Don't know, but I'd interested to know how you get on as I've got a 2.1 pinto on MJ and the exact same carbs as you (supplied by
them)
Last time I was down there (picking up my carbs) they had a mk1 escort with a fully tunned up pinto with webber 48's on the rollers - it sounded
good to me
otherwise all I can say is the roads round there are good fun even in the tin-top

Just back, and once again Dave Bogg was a top, TOP man. Cant recommend him enough, totally knowledgable but entirely happy to share all he knows with
anyone who asks.
He was well impressed with the engine saying it pulls hard from nothing in any gear .
A bit of carb balancing and the main jets drilled out to 170 (he said it was leaning out at 5500rpm) had it pretty much sorted. I also uploaded a more
agressive map (basically the stock zetec blacktop map that is supplied with MJ) before we went.
The result, 160 horses @ 6000rpm at the rear wheels. So somewhere in the region of 180-190bhp at the fly There might be a bit more past
6000rpm, but he asked for a rev limit so we said 6k.

I have to say this thing absolutely flies. The torque is fantastic too, there's grunt in any gear, whenever you need it.
We reckon this has cost us around £1200 max. And that includes forking out full triggerwheels prices for MJ and associated gubbins, and the full
bellhousing, fly, clutch etc from RWD motorsport. so if you wanted you could probably do it cheaper.
Oh and it returned 37mpg there and back (mixed driving) including the roller session

Dunno unfortunately - his RR is quite primitive so only gives power at the rear wheels. I suspect he could have set it up to give torque but i got the
impression it wasn't straight forward.
