don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

You can get special glass glue from large diy shops.
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

If its a metal arm do not use superglue or the like you need the adhesive stickers designed for the Job these take expansion into account I found out
to my expens when my screen cracked down the middle due to the heat on the mirror stem
Life is like a bowl of fruit, funny how all the weird looking ones are left alone

I worked at a Rover dealership in 1989 and we had a steady stream of cars coming in for new screens. All were cracked top to bottom down the middle of
the screen, and all of them had some sort of Araldite or Superglue holding the rear view mirror on. Clean the screen and mirror mount and use the
correct mirror mount pad.

Don't know how it would go over at your end. But a few months ago the mirror of my gf's tintop fell off. I took it to carglass and they
stuck it back on for free. So imho not worth messing with yourself...
