After a spring, any ideas?
I'm after a spring for the throttle pedal which is stronger / more resistant.
Now to describe the spring.
Imagine a spring coil with 2 straight ends. so if you had a wire left a straight bit, wrapped it round your finger 5 times then had another straight
bit. it would look like that. A bit like a U with a circle at the bottom.
Anyone got ideas on the type of springs name and where i could get one.

Pretty sure you mean a Torsion Spring.
Quick search on ebay and you can get 20 (various sizes) for under a tenner. Im sure if you search for the right one you could get it for a couple of
quid.
Here is the 20 LARGE MEDIUM TORSION SPRINGS ASSORTMENT ASSORTED 10 PAIRS VARIOUS MIXED TS24

I'm very interested on this topic! My throttle peddle only movement back is from the bike engine spring, near the carbs, on the other side of
the accelerator cable...
How would you go about putting the "U with a curve" spring on a throttle peddle? Pictures, please?
I was thinking about a straight spring (like the top two on the 2nd column from the left) and put one end on a hole through the peddle and the other
through a hole on the peddle pivot casing.

I think it is important to ensure that the return spring at the carb end is adequate too. Personally I would be adding springs at that end to ensure
that the throttle closes if the original one breaks for some reason.
That's what scrutineers look for anyway.

This pic shows how it might fit together;
The hooked end of the torsion spring (6) goes behind the pedal arm (1), and the straight end presses against the mount (7).
But as mentioned, might be better replacing the carb end spring.

Ive got an OBP pedal im adapting which is a floor operated pedal.
Just so I'm clear on why i'm doing it, I have a EFI turbo'd engine and have a throttle position sensor built into the intake as well
so changing the spring in this area for me is not really an option.
when I had to set up the throttle position sensor I had a tolerence of 0.2mm!
