Seat arrangement
I'm new around here so Hi everyone!
Just have this one question at the moment: I'm starting building my Locost next year but I won’t be the only driver, I like my mum to get
insured on it so she can have a go at it but she is smaller than me and her driving position is different to mine i.e. she move the seat a little bit
closer to the steering wheel. Has anyone built a seat or got a donor seat on their Locost which seat on sliding tracks like most cars have? I was
thinking if I did have the seat on some tracks wouldn’t the seat would then be too high? What do you think? Thanks in advance

I've put both of my seats (Cobra Roadsters) on runners and the height is fine. They don't add much at all to the height, off the top of my
head I'd guess about 2cm max. I think a lot of people use runners on the drivers seat, so it's a common enough thing.
Cheers,
Pete
It's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care...

I think the runners from the MGF are popular (they might be the same as the metro). They are about an inch high & lots of the seat company's
sell them for around (i think) 30 pounds.

Just don't buy the ones from Midland Wheels - mine had more bend than a banana!

Bedford Rascal ones would be a cheap way of doing it.
Nightkid, be careful about how high you make the seat. For a start you don't want to feel like you're 'falling-out' of the car
and second, the higher the seat belt holes are, the harder it is to pass the SVA seat-belt angle test!

James
