Recessing motorcycles dash
Hi All
Looking to use a CBR600f sport dash on my MK Indy R but unsure whether this will need recessing into the dash (i.e does the face need to be level with
the surface of the dash) for IVA?
Pictures of what others have done would be appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

No the dash does not need to be recessed, but the only things to bear in mind will be visibilty (i.e. can you see them from sitting) and then
radius'
Obviously if fitted behind the steering wheel, then a lot of this is taken away, but may still be some areas outside of the radius free zone.
Basically, as long as there aren't any sharp edges etc and the radius' look ok, you should be good.

If you want to mount the dash unit centrally in your dash then recess it like this (plywood dashboard)...

Hi we made a iva friendly dash to comply with all the necessary radius as i wanted to use the zx12r clocks then made one I'd like one bit of
advice would be to have them angled towards the driver as mounting them flat you will be leaning over time view them.

Thanks chaps. Lots of different options here.
I have a carbon dash so difficult to do some of the options.
Looks like I need to read up on the radius rules then..

Here's one my mate has just done, not sure if it's IVA friendly or not?
Looks good though and uses standard CBR900 clocks!
I think I'll be copying when I get a new dash!
