GTS/Triton Challenger Pics

Hi,

just found this forum while searching for kit-car stuff on the web. look really usful so i hope you can help.

I'm looking for some picture GTS/Triton Challengers? I'm also intrested in how the body is mounted to the chassis as i belive it can be fitted to an existing locost chassis. so i'm thinking about fitting a set to my narrow body westfield.

Thanks

Lee

Hi there and welcome,

The person that is probably best to speak to is Simon who's forum name is chaos99, he has a Challenger all built and SVA'd.

I'm sure he will be happy to help with any questions you have.

HTH,
Rich.

Fantastic pictures just what I was looking for thanks Ned the car looks great. The rear monoshock looks particularly good i've not seen that type of setup before. I've just got a couple of querys if I may.

Is your car based on the GTS Challenger chassis?
What are your front and rear track measurements and how much steering lock is a available before the wheels touch the body?

Thanks.

Challenger

HI,

It was the first car, built by Mark at Triton Sports Cars before all sold to Darren at GTS. He tig welded a chassis up but believe it is loosly based on the GTS chassis, mostly anyway. The monoshock is obviously different as are the front suspension rockers etc..

Lock is a problem as the the XI had the same issues. It is quite happy on normal roads etc... but tight turns do cause problems and I am going to cut a curve on the front wheel arch to allow more.

Not sure on front rear track measurements I would need to check. Uses full length sierra half shafts at rear, front looks wider but I think it is mainly body shape.

The car runs with a titan motorsport quick rack which gives about a turn lock-lock I think.

Brakes are wilwood 4 pots on front with sierra discs / calipers on rear so loads of stopping power.

The car needs setting up geometry properly and then it will be on track trying to get the monoshock to work as it should. Done 500 miles it on road and seems very stiff and fun! Triumph engine is great.

Which Kit? are comming on Sunday 2pm to take pictures and they are doing an article and test drive soon too:-))

If you are in the SOuth East then feel free to come and see / measure..
Simon

Also keep an eye on

www.sqwish.co.uk

as there will be a Challenger site appearing there (well more than the first screen) once I knuckle down again.

There will be all sorts of pics and data.

I Know Mark from Triton and he is chuffed to bits that the first car is road legal and that it went to a good home. I am sure he would like to see it too but i doubt he will admit to that.

Yeah, Marks a nice chap. Put a lot of work into car. Welding is brilliant and I am determined to get the MONOSHOCK to work one way or another.

It will be quite a high profile car this year so hope Darren gets some good orders!
