instruments?

hi guys,
im after a set of instruments, and have decided on the smiths telemetrix set- but have a few questions:
here goes....

im after:
speedo
tacho
fuel level gauge
dual - oil press./water temp

and one more.....
what would be the most logical - ammeter or voltmeter (as i dont particularly want a clock)

also, what sender are required for my 1800 cvh? can i use the existing sensors on the engine, or are they simply switches?

and one final thing - do the tacho and speedo run off the same senders - magnetic things??

very confused, and any el ould be very much appreciated!
thanks
Tom

I've just ordered a set from greengauges.com:

speed
tacho
oil pressure
water temp
fuel gauge

Speedo uses magnetic sensors
Tacho is wired to coil

If I was having another gauge it would be an oil temp gauge.

greengauges.com will be able to sell you the right adapters you'll need.

Hi Tom.

Speedo (electronic) needs a sender kit comprising of magnets and a reed swich, magnets are glued to the propshaft etc. telemetrix can supply.

Tacho works off the lv side of the coil

Fuel gauge needs a sender unit, telemetrix can supply one to match

Oil pressure (electronic) needs a transducer screwed into oilway (need an adapter to allow existing oil warning light switch to be at same point, if necessary) again telemetrix can supply

water temp similar, dunno if you can use existing, may not read same temp and I don't think there is a way to calibrate.

This set of gauges will not be cheap, Europa sell this stuff. give them a call or maybe see tham at the Stafford show this weekend (check if they're going to be there), where they may have a show "offer"
