Interior storage box
Way back when, I jokingly posted re the use of a glove box http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=28412&page=1
Well, having used the car a bit I have found there are often a few loose things that you want inside the car but have no place to put them except the
passenger seat or footwell, where the roll/fly/blow around (delete as appropriate).
The ST cockpit is fairly long and I am not, so I decided to fit the glove box behind the driver's seat.
So, my truly low cost solution was:
1. trim a bit off the edge of the lid so it doesn't overlap too much
2. Evo stik some cut down Metro door seal on the leading edge to act as a seal against the bulkhead
3. Stick some other bits of rubber on the side edges of the box as seals, over the screw holes as spacers and on the bottom to avoid scraping on the
floor
4. Block up unused holes with Metro panel plugs and trim off
5. Screw with self-tappers onto the rear bulkhead.
Total cost:
Metro glove box, screws, rubber trim, etc.: free
A small amount of Evo Stik: 50p?

If you have no room behind the seats you can put one of these in the passenger footwell.........Humbug gets all his best ideas off my website!!!

Actually, Surrey, I think I have seen that on your website but I decided it would be a bit of a pain to dive under the dash to get at the box (oo-er,
missus!)

My seat backs are thick, so this was the only space, it only contains emergency tools ,bottle jack etc, so luckily haven't used it yet, I have a
more accessible container above the fuel tank

Nice idea but you should have mounted it the right way up for the cup holders.
well done though.

Humbug, what have you used for your floor? It looks like "grip-tred" stainless steel - is it a commonly available patterned ali sheet?
Would make it less slippery climbing in with wet feet (it rains a lot here - that explains why Kiwi's invented the jet boat and the Aquada!)
Fraser cars www.fraser.co.nz fit a glovebox to the top of the trans tunnel on their dedion cars - not having to allow room for the driveshaft to go up
and down gave let them room to lower the height of the tunnel.
