Pre 1995 SVA Emmisions Law

Ive read here & elsewhere that if your kit uses a pre95 engine it wont be subject to the same emmision tests and need a cat.

Can someone clarify this and let me know the following:

1. the exact cut off date for the rule
2, The evidence required by the SVA people? (V5 for doner car/bike? chassis/engine nos etc??)

Yes thats right. Stricter emissions test is required for engines from 1st August 1995 onwards

1. - 31st July 1995
2. - Manufacturers proof of engine age. Usually a letter from the manufacturer, although some have passed using extracts from the Haynes Manual.

Thanks hellfire. I may consider a low mileage fireblade/zx9r pre 95 powerplant when I commence my build. Could make things easier & reduce costs
