Any videos of a pinto powered locost?
Hey guys,
Just wondering if there are any videos of pinto powered locosts out there.
Im using a 2.3L lima (same idea as pinto) so just curious as to what to expect.
Cheers.

Not slating the BEC boys here (im even thinking about one for my next more trackday orientated project). But you have got to agree that engine does
sound good!
Im might just be personal taste but i prefer that to the more buzzy bike engines. Although i do think bike engines can sound very tasty.

I always think its funny that the BEC guys make less peak torque than my camaro did at fast idle .
The locost is going to be a daily driver for me, not my toy so wondering if the car is going to stall every light won't work. Besides, I need
more than a 4banger to really have fun with :p .
My next toy project is going to be 400rwhp (to start) and around 2000lbs wet. Based on a Cheetah (520bhp/1750lbs wet)
Thanks for the vids so far guys. I will look on the robinhood forums for more.
Cheers.

If you want some go fast things for that engine do a search on the circle track racers as the lima is there main engine. Basicaly how much for how
many $. It will run at 9-10,000 rpm and make a poo load of power but it will cost alot.
Or just find a head and turbo off of a mid 80s tbird or murkur and you can double you hp easily.
Dale
Thanks

Thanks Dale,
Ive already looked into the power possibilties for the 2.3L .
Seeing how tough it is the reason I chose it. I have an older, stronger 2.3L lima here that may end up getting some forged pistons and a centrifugal
blower (I dont like turbos). Apparantly the my 90 2.3L has smaller journals on it. Anyhow, I have to build the car first and the whole point of
this is to have a fun daily driver that still gets 4 banger MPG. Self restraint when it comes to horsepower is not something I am known for though
Cheers.

I would post a video of mine, but it sounds rubbish as it had a bad misfire at the time. Will rolling roaded soon to get it all set up properly.
