52mm gauges

maybe a stupid question but it's nasty outside and i can't be bothered to go out to the garage! does the 52mm relate to the O/D of the bezel on the gauge or is it the O/D of the gauge body?

making a template for a gauge holder went to make the holes at 52mm but then thought there's a chance the gauges will drop straight through!

thankyouplease

Body size - you will need a 52mm or 2" hole to fit them.
