Escort Mk2

Hello,
I am Marvin from the philippines, I just got the book a week ago. Last night i saw an advertisement of a MK2 escort for about £150. Are escorts reliable? or should i go for japanese cars and will the build be easier if i go for the escort. I'm just 19 and havent got any experience building cars. thank you.

need advise asap, hard to find escorts here

I would get it mate. Itl give u the axle and hand brake at the least. Then u can either sell the rest of the bits or use the engine and box as a good basis.

If u have no experience of cars i would say build it with that engine etc and upgrade later on if u want to... They still go very well with the 1300 xflow in .

The pinto engine has the Camshaft pulley at the front end of the cylinder head.
Have a look on

There is a lot of useful info in their technical sections.
