Monitor for TV?

Hi all,
Just wondered if I can use my computer monitor as a tv, I know you can get a tv card for the computer, but I was hoping to use the monitor on it's own.
Any info would be good
Many thanks
Nick.

If you use the a TV card you can use your PC as a digital video recorder.

I have mine connected to my TV and it works great.
